Like many Americans we have stepped into the adult world not knowing crucial lifeskills, not knowing the various ways to invest or take care of money, not knowing what I truly like or want to do with life, and not even knowing what is really going on in the world and how it effects our future. We found that this instance is often more common than not and not limited to our generation. This led us to ask the question, why live life like this?

From this question we came up with the idea of Life Readiness Guide; to answer and educate young adults and our generation what we never learned from our standardized education. Our goal is to learn together everyday so we can grow as individuals and create the life we deserve to live by doing what we want to do.

James’ Happy Place

A little about James – I grew up in Holden Massachusetts. I played Hockey, Baseball, lacrosse, and golf growing up. I enjoyed painting, cooking as well as the outdoors, but never took advantage of it because it wasn’t the cool thing to do (A big regret I have, but a lesson learned in life to do what you like and fuck the rest). I went to UMass Amherst got a History degree because “that was all I was good at” and commissioned as an 2nd Lieutenant in the Army from the ROTC program. Through the Army I have met, led, and learned from people from around the world and across the country of all ages, races, and religions and gained a new perspective on life I never would have if I stayed in my comfortable bubble of central Massachusetts. After getting married and having my son I began contemplating what I wanted him to know and learn as he grew up and became an adult so that he would be set up for success. My innate curiosity and search for new hobbies, concepts, and ideas as well as the future of my son is my drive.
